Any brand, product or service faces the risk of being copied. Even when it comes down to the most critical part of its identity — the name. Without an innovative name and its legal protection, someone else can use your name out of lack of originality or just lack of knowledge about intellectual property and correct business practices.
Great names are becoming rarer by the minute. Even when you think you’ve struck gold with a name that seems unique and original, it may, in fact, already be in use by another company. You can never guarantee its availability and ownership unless you go through the correct legal vetting process.
This brand name combines the words 'do' and 'daub'. It is short, witty, and interesting on the eye due to replacing the 'o' with a 'ü'. The umlaut is represented by colourful paint daubs to communicate the company’s service offering and vibrant personality.
'Deeghuys' is based on family values and speaks to the widely shared family experience of baking by selling frozen dough products for home use. The name translates to 'dough house' in Dutch, which is an ode to the owner's heritage and further underpins the concept of tradition.
‘Zölt' derives from a combination of 'salt' and 'exalt'. Salt was used as a currency before money, which links to the rewards one can earn on the app. Exalt refers to being raised to a higher position, much like players would be in the app. To communicate the brand's energetic ethos, we created a bright and dynamic brand identity.
'Débu' derives from the word 'debut'. The name's excellence lies in being simple, fresh and descriptive. The word 'debut' encapsulates the entire being of the app, as the platform exists to scout young musical talent. We created a loud and vibrant brand identity that fires up potential within the imagination of teenagers.

We conduct in-depth observation and research of the market to create a selection of names that embody the entire being of your business, product, service or campaign.
We put the names to the test through a preliminary screening on the CIPC's company name database and other digital platforms to check for availability.
We present you with a set of 5 names that pass the first evaluation test, along with creative rationales and domain name availability.
We vet two of your chosen names with our legal counsel to confirm the availability of the trade mark and advise in line with any possible legal concerns.
Our creative expertise is two-pronged. After securing the name's availability, we then bring it to life by creating a logo that reflects your brand's identity.
The name officially becomes legally protected, and you can gain ownership of it forever. The creation-to-protection process has now come full-circle.
Trade mark registration is the legal process through which you apply for the ownership and protection of your brand's mark to distinguish it as part of your brand's identity.
Your brand equity is secured, and you are able to take legal action against copycats.
Protection is an investment as it will prevent unfavourable legal fees in the future.
Only you possess the right to use the registered asset, which acts as a defence against any potential legal disputes.
Clients can see that there is value and authenticity in your brand when it is registered.
After conducting the preliminary screening, we vet two of your chosen names with our legal counsel to confirm the availability of the trade mark and advise in line with any possible legal concerns.

The ™ and ® are used as notice of ownership for marks such as a name, logo, slogan, colour, or combination thereof. The difference is that the ™ symbol is used for trade marks that are not yet registered or are still awaiting approval. In contrast, the ® symbol is used for trade marks that have been registered successfully.

Yes. You can form your company by registering it and leaving it in a ‘dormant’ state until you are able to start trading.
Trade marks can be registered for various goods and services. All conceivable goods and services fall into one of 45 classes, and your trade mark will always be classified into one or more of these classes. This is done to ensure that your trade mark is protected in respect of all goods and/or services that it is used in. For example, the ADIDAS trade mark is protected in class 25, clothing and shoes, but it also falls in class 28 for rugby balls.
A trade mark cannot grant you exclusive rights to anything common in the trade or reasonably required for use. For example, "Window Cleaning Company" for a company that cleans windows is purely descriptive of the service provided by the company. Therefore, it would not serve to distinguish this company's services from those of a competitor. A trade mark also can't prohibit others from using your intellectual property in line with ways that won't lead to consumer confusion.
